WHILE YOU'RE GONE

You can finally relax now the worries of mortal life are a burden of another, but what about the ones you left behind? Human grief is unique and diverse in every way, and how we deal with death can say a lot about what we think about it. This space will walk your through the nuances of grief and how the things we keep in rememberance help to heal the pain.

This video explores a new branch of photography that documents the lives of stillborns and lost infants shortly after they've arrived. Heaven Bound is an organization of volunteer photographers whose mission is to document the beauty and fragility of tiny lost lives. Losing an infant is a whole different side of grief, but through denying that it's possible to lose a baby is only another facet of death denying culture. Newborn photographer, former paramedic and volunteer for Heaven Bound Tonia Lariviere walks us through this delicate landscape of infant loss photography.
