YOU're DYING

You’ve arrived to the point in life in which death has become a fast approaching reality, so now what? Congratulations, you've accepted your mortality. You can begin to explore the options in your death that you can choose while you're still living. The best way to put your death fears to bed is to start talking about it. You've realized we're all going to die one day, so why not start to plan your death?

This video explores a new phenomenon popping up all across the world: the death cafe. Yes, there's coffee and no, you don't have to drink it with dead people. The lack of conversation around death may be one of the biggest factors contributing to the death-denying culture of the West. The death cafe movement aims to mobilize the conversation around death to make it an easier experience for ourselves and the ones we leave behind. According to the official death cafe website, their objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'. This isn't a grief counselling or support group of any kind, but rather its a way for people to start the sticky conversation about death in a safe space. Anyone can hold a death cafe as long as they adhere to one rule: coffee, tea, and treats have to be served.
